About Jess

I started taking pictures in 1989, as a senior in High school.  I graduated from college with a BA in Expeditionary Photography in 1994.  Every day provides a photographic challenge.  My works include National Geographic, ESPN, commercial/advertising and the US Navy.  After my discharge from the Navy I felt the need to try something a bit more personal and emotional, so I shot my first wedding.

A wedding is like no other experience.  The joy and beauty, the anxiety and jitters, the family and friends, it’s a photographers delight.  I found a deep love and appreciation for photographing people, in all their forms and functions.  In 2006 I opened up a photography studio in Denver CO, where I concentrated on weddings, portraiture and fine art photography.

In 2012 my family packed up and moved to the Pacific Northwest in search of a simpler life.  We landed in the beautiful Enumclaw Washington.  I have a loving supportive husband, two rambunctious young boys, two dogs, two horses, three goats, and ten chickens, and we all live on five acres of paradise.

I have done just about every type of photography one could think of and after all this time, I find natural light, natural people and natural backdrops provide the best images.
